With great sadness, we announce the passing of Deborah Anne Brown, 67, of Longmont, CO, on October 20th, 2024. Debbie was born on August 24, 1957, in Dodge City, KS, to Albert and Laura (Stillwell) Meier. Debbie lived a life filled with tremendous love and gratitude. Her beautiful essence will live on through the lives she touched.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Debbie started her 49-year-long career in the grocery business with Dillons in Hays, Kansas. She later moved to Colorado and worked for King Soopers. After retiring from King Soopers in 2019, she worked in semi-retirement for the St. Vrain school system in the lunchroom as a “lunch lady” and absolutely loved the work and children.
Debbie’s passion was, first and foremost, family. She took her role as mother and grandmother seriously, leaving a legacy of wisdom and love to not only her direct family but also the ones she met along her way through life. She proudly carried the title Gram-Gram that her granddaughter bestowed on her. Debbie was an avid reader, loved to camp and explore the mountains of Colorado, piddle in the yard, crochet, and be a solid sounding board for advice and encouragement for those blessed enough to cross her path.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise Renee Stephenson, and partner David Borden; two grandchildren, Devin Sterling and Drake Albert, all of Conifer, CO; stepson, Art (Kelly) Brown, Tucson, AZ; one brother, Greg (Christy) Meier, Grand Junction, CO, one sister, Beth Meier, Broomfield, CO, one niece, Chelsea Meier (Austin), San Diego, CA, one nephew, Zachary (Melyssa) Meier, Fruita CO and great-nephews, Everett, Maverick and Jett. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Art.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 16, 2024, at 1pm, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St, Longmont, CO 80501. A reception will immediately follow next door to the chapel at the Callahan House, 312 Terry St, Longmont, CO 80501.
Interment will be held at a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In remembrance of Debbie, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness in Debbie’s honor. Condolences can be sent via e-mail to [email protected]
