Dave had a long career with IBM. He was a computer technician in the early 60’s and also became an editor and writer. He retired from IBM after 39 years in 2001, then worked for Storage Tech for 7 years. His favorite hobby was Ham Radio. He got his Ham license when he was 12 years old and shared this hobby with his father. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Club at IBM. Dave made many contacts and friends throughout the world. He was also an avid photographer. Many of you have been to his “slide shows” at Dave and Suzanne’s home. Dave was talented in music. He had a great singing voice and played the piano, trombone, trumpet, French horn and baritone. He was in the marching band in high school and loved big band music.
Dave and Sue were married on January 27th, 1962 at Caley Avenue Baptist Church in Littleton, Colorado. His career with IBM took them and their girls to live in Florida and Arizona in addition to Colorado.
Dave was saved when he was 10 years old and became a tremendous example and role model. He was an enormous blessing to so many in the several churches he was a part of throughout his life. He had a passion for missions and built web pages for many missionaries throughout the world. He was always involved in choir and orchestra in church. He led singing, was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, small group leader and a church bus driver.
Most importantly about David is that he loved the Lord and honored and served Him his whole life. His family and friends are assured that he is with his Lord and Savior at this moment. This we know absolutely because of our faith in Jesus and the Truth of God’s Word.
A Funeral Service for David was held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont. He was laid to eternal rest at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Fond memories of David and expressions of condolence for his family are welcome at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
