Dave was born to Donald (Don) & Dorothy R. McIntyre on September 18, 1950, at Methodist hospital in Peoria, IL. He attended Alta Elementary and graduated from Dunlap High School in Illinois. While he attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, his parents and youngest sister moved to Colorado. After leaving Central Bible College, he returned home to Illinois and lived with his oldest sister and her husband for a short period of time. He met Nancy, the love of his life, on a trip to Colorado visiting his family. They were married on August 26, 1972, in Taylor, Nebraska, where Nancy grew up and lived in Peoria, IL, for a short time before moving to Longmont, CO. They raised their three children in Mead, CO, and moved back to Longmont for the remainder of Dave's life. Dave spent many of his working years at Sunstrand in Westminster, CO, and then transitioned to be a Residential Real Estate Appraiser in Gunbarrel, CO, for the rest of his career. Dave is survived by his Mom Dorothy McIntyre, his beautiful wife Nancy McIntyre, his two loving daughters, Heather and Heidi, his beautiful daughter-in-law Kristin, and his two granddaughters, McKynlee and Harkynn - they were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister Donna (Cris) Arellano of Greeley, CO, and brother-in-law Jim Brewer also of Greeley, CO, brother-in-law Rudy (Norma) Janitscheck of Taylor, NE, sister-in-law Carole (Jim) Squires of Peculiar, MO, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family. His son Eric McIntyre followed him to heaven 19 days after his passing. Dave was preceded in death by his dad Don McIntyre, older sister Margot Brewer, father- and mother-in-law Elmer and Iva Janitscheck, and niece Suzi Squires.
Dave and Nancy attended New Creation Church (Bethel Temple) for 40+ years serving in many capacities, making many lifelong friends, and impacting many lives. With his family, he was attending Living River Church in Lafayette, CO, where he also served and continued the legacy of impacting those around him. Many have commented that they fondly recall his his big smile and one-of-a-kind hugs. Dave and his beautiful wife spent many hours with their granddaughters, taking them to dance class every week and playing with them at the park. He enjoyed every moment with them, his kids, and his extended family regularly, and made many wonderful memories that will be cherished for the years to come. While we are sad that Dave is no longer with us, we are thankful for the confidence that we will be reunited with him again and we will once again be worshipping our Lord and Savior together.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, February 8, at 11 am, at New Creation Church in Longmont, CO, with Dave's pastor Tom Harrington officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent in memory of Dave to the Boulder Pregnancy Resource Center or to the Colorado Special Olympics.
