Bonnie Belle Mohn of Longmont, Colorado passed away on November 13, 2023 while in hospice care. Family members had been at her side continuously. Her son, Ron, was with her when she parted for heaven. All were deeply grateful that her decades-long bout with chronic pain had finally come to an end.
Bonnie was born on February 20, 1933, to Wilber and Rachel Brack. On September 15, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Mohn, in Lafayette, Colorado. They moved to Longmont in 1955 and were married 57 years before Ray passed away in 2008.
Bonnie loved and served Jesus Christ. She attended church regularly, loved to worship, and served the needs of others. She made and gave away lap blankets, cooked and delivered food for those in need, befriended the lonely, and shared her life and talents in many other ways.
Along with the role of wife, Bonnie was known as a homemaker, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, friend, and bookkeeper for Mohn Construction. She loved and served her family, which included her daughter Donna Rae and her son Ron. They remember her love of sacred music, her fishing with them, working on puzzles with them, and the many other ways she connected with them.
Her now adult grandchildren, Tonia Kuter and Brian Manzanares, loved their grandma’s treats, putting together puzzles with her, singing and playing games with her, among a host of other things. Likewise, Bonnie loved her grandchildren—reading to them, praying with them, playing with them, even making recordings of their favorite songs with them.
And her great-grandchildren—Wesley and Madilyn Manzanares, and Joey and Annalisa Kuter—enjoyed grandma’s stuffed animals, candy and ice cream supply, and the joy on her face when they showed her their most recent creations.
Bonnie loved life, especially the Life-Giver, the Lord Jesus, and all of her family, including her nieces and nephews. Her natural family, church family, and friends will miss her deeply.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Ray and her son Ricky Lee.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter Donna Rae Watkins and her husband Bill of Longmont; her son Ron Mohn and his wife Lisa of Longmont; two grandchildren, Tonia Kuter with her husband Joe, and Brian Manzanares with his wife Chelsey; four great grandchildren, Wesley and Madilyn Manzanares, and Joey and Annalisa Kuter; her brother Bob Brack; sister-in-law Vada Brack; brother- and sister-in-law Clyde and Pam Mohn; and numerous nephews and nieces.
The service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 17, at the Longmont Nazarene Church, with the Pastor Sid Sever officiating. There will then be a short gravesite gathering immediately following the service. On Thursday, November 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., there will be a viewing at Howe Mortuary in Longmont.
Contributions may be made to the Longmont Church of the Nazarene.
