Billie Jean Thompson

Billie Jean Thompson, 57, of Erie, went home to be with her Lord on December 21, 2019 at UC Health in Longmont, CO. Billie was born January 19, 1962 in Sidney, MT to Barbara “Babe” (Trotter) and Dan DeShaw. She married the love of her life, Steven Ray Thompson on August 23, 1980 in Sidney, MT.

Billie loved horses and everything about them. She especially loved rescuing them and driving Steve crazy with another horse in the pasture. Billie felt the closest to God when she was riding one of her horses. She also loved hopping on “Angus”, her golf cart, and driving around the farm. Billie was an active part of the Plane View Stables family. Besides her love for working around the farm, Billie treasured her morning coffee with her husband and family. Billie eagerly spread God’s word by proving to be a friend to all she met. Her smile, a warm beacon of light, graced every person she met.

Billie was a member of Community In Christ Church in Arvada. She is survived by her husband Steve Thompson and her children Heather Williams and her husband Justin, Dusty Thompson, Joshua Thompson and his wife Liz, and Emma Thompson. She is further survived by her two granddaughters Aurora and Cadence Williams. Billie is also survived by her siblings Merlin DeShaw and his wife Barb, Sherry Shumake, Sue McKenna and her husband Dennis, Lyle DeShaw and his wife Bernie, Lawrence DeShaw and his wife Ramona, and her cousin and best friend Colleen “Snookie” Topp and her husband Kevin. Billie was preceded in death by her mother Babe Walla, father Dan DeShaw, stepfather “Jug” Walla, brother David DeShaw, sister Barb “Dee Dee” Cybulski, brother Danny DeShaw, and nephew Patrick Cybulski.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Community In Christ Church at 12229 W. 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80005.
