

Barbara Henneke of Longmont, Colorado, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 69 years old. Barbara Irene Will was born October 11, 1939 in Enid, Oklahoma to Marvin ""Bud"" Will and Virginia (Harry) Will. Following her graduation from Hennessey High School in 1957, Barb attended business school in Oklahoma City. On September 27, 1958, she married Richard C. Henneke in the Union Chapel, a little country church near Hennessey, Oklahoma.After living in Albuquerque for a few years, the couple moved to Longmont as Richard joined IBM in 1966. It was here that they raised their three children, James, Monte and Michelle. Barbara kept a meticulous home and enjoyed working on their one acre yard and large garden. The couple made many friendships that lasted throughout their married life. They later lived in Colorado Springs, Austin, Texas, and Fort Collins. While primarily a homemaker, Barbara worked for a number of area business including Robbin's Flower Shop, IBM, and Leanin' Tree Greeting Cards. In 1995, Barbara and Richard decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of full-timing in their RV. In more than a decade on the road they were able to visit 49 states, most of the provinces in Canada, and much of Mexico. In addition to travel, Barb loved sewing and gardening. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoyed collecting seashells, walking for fitness, and had even climbed 14 of Colorado's fourteeners. Most of all, Barbara enjoyed cooking and entertaining with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Richard Henneke of Longmont; two sons, James Henneke of Thornton, and Monte Henneke of Longmont; daughter, Michelle Henneke of Manitou Springs; granddaughter, Samantha Kim Sparks of Colorado Springs; brother, John Will of Vidor, Texas; and sister, Kathy Wofford and her husband, Shorty, of Cortez, Colorado. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Marvin. A memorial service will be held at LifeBridge Christian Church at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009 with David Bradshaw officiating.
