Shirley Rose Douglas, 90, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Ruben and Cordelia Burdo of Cheboygan, Michigan, and was one of 14 children. Shirley was the last of her siblings to pass, and her loss leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas (Gerald) Douglas, and her son, Steve Douglas. She is survived by her children, Gary (Deb), Brian, and Lori (Rocco), seven grandchildren, and five great-grandsons, all of whom she loved deeply.
Shirley worked for many years at Micro Measurements, where she made lifelong friendships and earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Her love of family, her kind spirit, and her dedication to her work left a lasting impact on those around her.
An excellent cook and baker, Shirley was known for her culinary talents, particularly her famous pumpkin rolls, which were a favorite among her family and friends. She had a gift for bringing people together, often through the warmth of her kitchen and the delicious treats she lovingly prepared.
Visitation for Shirley will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 12:00 PM (with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM) at St. Mary Catholic Church, 120 N D St., Cheboygan, MI 49721.
In honor of Shirley's memory, donations may be made to the Cheboygan Catholic Community Task Force.
Shirley’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will be cherished by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
