Ronald James Ferrari, age 89, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born on February 20, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, to John and Agnes (Jorgensen) Ferrari.
Ronald lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.
He met the love of his life, Patricia Long, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Detroit in 1953. Their deep connection led to a beautiful wedding in the same church in 1956, and a marriage spanning over half a century. Together, they created a loving home and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Ronald’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; their children: Laura (Ed) Baker, Ken (Ann) Ferrari, and the late Kathy (Greg) Mertins. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Adam (Jacqui), Timothy (Brittany), Elizabeth, Hannah, Erica, Austin (Amanda), Danielle (Gavin), and Scott (Jamie), and cherished his great-grandchildren: Josie, Charlotte, Landon, Delany, Grant, Wesley, Brooklyn, Ella, and Emmett.
In addition to his parents and daughter Kathy, Ronald was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bob Ferrari, and his older brother, Jacky. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and extended family.
Ronald was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livonia, where he and Patricia had been devoted members since 1967. He sang in the church choir for many years, as well as in the ARPI Choir, and his beautiful voice was a cherished part of his community. Outside of church, Ronald loved playing golf and found great joy in spending time on the course.
A proud graduate of the General Motors Institute in 1958, Ronald went on to establish a successful career at Cadillac, where he worked for nearly 40 years before retiring. His career was a testament to his commitment, diligence, and passion for his work.
Ronald and Patricia enjoyed traveling together, exploring all over the United States and even venturing to Europe. One of the highlights of their travels was a memorable trip to Ireland, a special experience they will always hold dear.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 30650 Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152.
