Rebecca Ann (Halley) Starks, 47, of Livonia, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Rebecca was born on January 21, 1972 in Ypsilanti to Don & Judy the first of their two children. She grew up in Wayne, and attended Wayne Memorial High School graduating in 1990. She then attended Eastern Michigan University following High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. She met her future husband Jim in her hometown of Wayne, Michigan and they married on October 4, 1999. They had three beautiful daughters, thus realizing her cherished role and purpose in life of motherhood to her girls.
Rebecca was heavily involved in fund-raising, walking and crewing for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day events for many years. She was also active in volunteering in her daughters schools, scouting and making certain they had her support at all of their clubs, sports and musical activities. Rebecca loved reading, yoga and fitness classes at the Livonia Rec Center, attending plays, movies, music, and concerts.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Elizabeth, Abigail and Evelyn; brother, James "Sid" (Mary) Halley; in-laws, Clyde and Ilene Starks; brother-in-law, Scott (Colette Richards) Starks; sister-in-law, Sandy (Rich) Derscha; nieces, Maggie and Katherine; nephews, Richard, Brandon and Bailey; and aunt, Linda (Dale) Graber. She will be missed by her beloved dog, Henley.
Friends may visit Friday, August 2, 2019 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 West Six Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48152 and on Saturday from 9:00 until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. A procession and short graveside service and burial will immediately follow the service at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, Livonia at 34205 Five Mile Road. A memorial luncheon will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Laurel Manor, 39000 Schoolcraft, Livonia, 48150.
Memorials may be made in Rebecca's memory with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Fight for Air Climb with the American Lung Association, The March of Dimes, The American Cancer Society, or The American Heart Association, all of which were important causes to her and her family and friends.
