Nawaf Anton Haddad, 83, of Northville, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. Nawaf was born on May 8, 1936 in Fuheis, Jordan to Anton and Martha Haddad. He immigrated to the United States in 1981. Nawaf loved reading and reciting poetry and proverbs. "He was a very loving, wise, and fair man", his family commented.Nawaf brought joy to all around him with his keen sense of humor. Nawaf found education for his children of utmost importance. He was a very devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved giving of himself to help the underprivileged and needy, living out his devotion to his religion. His final words were: "I want to die happy with my family around me." and was able to fulfill his wish.
Nawaf is survived by his wife of 56 years, Widad, son, Anton (Mary) Haddad, daughters, Lorette (Marcio) Haddad, and Leila Haddad; sister, Loris Shabaan; brother, Izzat (Kafa) Haddad; grandchildren, Elorian (Madelyn) Ferez, Elijhun Ferez, Nikolas Haddad, and Gabriel Haddad; great-grandchildren, Aulin Ferez, and Vivianna Ferez. In addition to his parents, Nawaf was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law, Nabil Shabaan.
Friends may visit Monday, January 20, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.) at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 West Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. Visitation continues on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John XXIII Parish, 12100 Beech Daly, Redford, Michigan 48239. Burial will follow Mass at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
