Michael L. Priest

Michael L. Priest passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the age of 75. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia (Jilbert) Priest, his son Evan Priest and his wife, Renee (Jensen) Priest, and their two children, Noelle and Bradley, and his son Brady Priest and his wife, Sarah (Iannacone) Priest, and their three children, Charlie, Maddie and Abby. Mike is also survived by his sister, Cheryl (Priest) Potok, her husband, Alan Potok, and their three girls, Jenny, Mandy and Kacy (along with their spouses and children).

Mike was born on October 13, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Palmer Priest and Virginia (Hyzer) Priest. He graduated from Bentley High School, in Livonia, and Michigan Technological University, in Houghton. While at Michigan Tech, he was a proud member of the Sigma Rho fraternity, where he made many friends that lasted throughout his life. Mike began his career as a Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor with the City of Livonia in 1969, and founded his own firm, Michael L. Priest & Associates, in 1977. Mike was a lifelong fan of hockey, and especially the Detroit Red Wings. He also loved hunting and the outdoors, and especially enjoyed spending time at the family hunting camp near Hubbard Lake. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
