Margareta-Erminia Cassani, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on December 4, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Peter and Elizabeth Cassani.
Margareta, affectionately known as Erminia, leaves behind a legacy of love and passion in the lives of all who knew her. She was the loving mother of Kristin (late Robert Rees) Cassani, and the proud grandmother of Victoria (Anthony) Owens and Natasha (Treshawn King) Rees. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her granddaughters.
In addition to her immediate family, Margareta is survived by her brothers, Peter Cassani and Julius Cassani, and she was preceded in death by her brothers David and Michael Cassani. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, her cat Cosgrove, who brought her comfort and companionship.
Margareta had a fulfilling career in Medical Editing and was a talented published writer and artist. Her creativity extended to her passion for Breast Cancer Awareness, where she was actively involved in creating art to raise awareness for the cause. Margareta was deeply spiritual and had a thirst for knowledge, always seeking opportunities for continued education and personal growth.
Those who knew Margareta remember her as a kind-hearted and compassionate individual, always ready to lend a helping hand and brighten someone's day with her warm smile. Her dedication to her family, her creative pursuits, and her advocacy work inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Margareta's life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM with a memorial service to take place beginning at 4:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48152.
Margareta-Erminia Cassani will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her love, strength, and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the world around her. May she rest in peace.
