Cooper, Julie Ann of Warrensburg, Illinois passed away on December 20, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Julie was born on August 14, 1958 and grew up in Detroit. She attended St. Scolastica Grade School and Benedictine High School. After high school, she attended Michigan Tech University, where her passion for nature and the outdoors became her lifestyle. That passion, and her “inner-gypsy” took her to Colorado, where she worked in a hospital to support a life of being out in nature, connecting with the earth, the water, and soaking in sunshine. She returned to Michigan to be near her family, and continued her passion camping, fishing, and kayaking. She established herself as an esteemed Echocardiogram Technician, and loved her role as a mentor to young people entering the profession. Her career was crowned by being hired as a traveling tech, where she got to spend time in multiple states, returning to Michigan frequently to see her family.
Julie is survived by her Mother, Sylvia Cooper, her brother Greg (Brendalee), her sisters, Donna (Bruce) and Gwyn. She was a special Aunt to Casidee (Kevin), Brendan, Mandi (Jake), Scott, Ben (Katie) and Lacey (George), and Great-Aunt to six little people that she adored. She was pre-deceased by her father, George, brother-in-law Frank, and nephew Nicholas.
Julie will be remembered at a memorial service on December 29, 2022 at Harry J. Will Funeral Home at 7:00 pm., with visitation beginning at 5:00.
