Joanie (Joan) was born on January 12, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Helen and John Korzelius. Joanie was the last living sibling and youngest of seven, preceded by brothers Tom, Jimmy, Joe and sisters Marianne, Margaret, and Aggie.
Joanie graduated from St. Anthony of Paduw in Syracuse New York where she met her soulmate (love of her life) Clement (Clem) Diglio Jr (husband). After graduating, Joanie worked at Smith-Corona in the finance department while taking courses at Oakland Community College. Joanie and Clem married in July, 1965 and immediately started a family.
Five children survive Joanie: Theresa, Joe (Lisa), Clem III (Carol), Barbara, and Tom. Six Grandchildren; Stephine, Melissa, Angelo, Isabella, Johnny and Makena, Two great grandchildren Jionni and Amadeus.
Joanie enjoyed family events the most. No one was more important than her husband, children and spouses, grandchildren, or great grandchildren. Behind family, was her love for bridge, casinos, and swim club. She had the most beautiful penmanship which was demonstrated in all the cards she sent to those she cared about. She prayed every day for anyone she knew needed a prayer.
After raising five children, Joanie turned her focus to insurance where she became a CSIR in the insurance industry. She took immense pride in maintaining her certification even while being retired. The one thing Joanie wanted to do is help others by finding ways to save money with their insurance needs. She loved achieving that.
