Florence Jane Moorhead

Florence "Flo" Jane Moorhead, age 97, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024. Born on January 31, 1927, in Clarendon, Arkansas, she was the cherished daughter of Anton and Ethel Semiski. Flo grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where she attended Cooley High School and cultivated a lifelong dedication to family and community.

Flo was the beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Moorhead and is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy (David) Trent and Nancy (Victor) Nesbitt. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Dr. Amanda Trent, Michael Trent, and Joshua (Amanda) Trent, as well as a devoted great-grandmother to Maci and Addison Trent.

In addition to her immediate family, Flo was a dear sister to the late Robert Semiski and a loving aunt to Gail (Rev. Dr. Dennis) Berkesch and James Semiski. She was also a great-aunt to Mikaela Berkesch and Megan (Jim) Brazil, who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.

Flo enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Ford Motor Company, later working at Costco until the remarkable age of 89. Her tireless work ethic was matched only by her passion for family, friends, and her beloved dogs. She was known for her vivacious spirit and her commitment to nurturing those around her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia. Flo will be laid to rest at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.

Flo's legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
