Arlene was a devoted wife to Terrence and mother of Ann Marie (David) Bishop, Phillip (Lydia), Dennis, Marty (Susan), Mary Kay (Steven) Sykora and Michelle (Michael) Fritsche.
She was a proud grandmother to Emily, Cameron, Ann, Keara, Liam, Kaleigh, Chloe, Keegan, Gavin, Claire and Kayden.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; parents, Raymond and Florence Donegan; and sisters, Catherine Taylor and Karen Portwood.
She also was a proud aunt to 32 nieces and nephews.
Arlene attended St. Mary’s of Redford High School and went on to study dental hygiene at The University of Detroit. Most of her thirty-year career was spent at Dearborn West Dental Center where she adored her longstanding coworkers and patients.
Arlene leaves a legacy of love and dedication. She and Terry spent countless hours supporting their kids and grandkids in their many extracurricular activities. They enjoyed attending their athletic events and arts performances as they were their biggest fans.
Arlene also treasured spending time with her family and close friends. She loved hosting them every summer at her Caseville cottage, playing games like Euchre and Rummikub, building puzzles and enjoying the lake. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle expert. Arlene has been a proud member of St. Edith Parish since 1967.
Visitation Sunday, November 17, between 2 pm and 7 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. Funeral in state Monday, November 18, at 10 am at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Rd, Livonia, MI 48154. Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Angela Hospice of Livonia or Disabled American Veterans.
