Born and raised in Newark, Patricia lived in Bloomfield over the past 37 years.
She went to Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Newark from 1st to 12th grade, graduating in 1973. She went on to Caldwell College where she graduated from in 1978. During her college years, she volunteered and served on Anthony Imperiale’s ambulance squad in the North Ward of Newark.
Patricia joined the US Army in 1979. She served in Military Intelligence and was granted a Top-Secret Clearance. She attained the rank of Specialist 5th Class, finishing her enlistment in 1983. It was during her service in the Army that she earned her master’s degree.
She worked for Essex County Court Services from 1983-2000. In 2000, she was promoted to Court Services Supervisor for Hudson County. She served in that position until her death.
Patty was VERY active at Our Lady of the Holy Angels in Little Falls, serving as Church Lector and Eucharistic minister. She was also an Associate of the Dominican Order of Sisters in Caldwell where she met Sister Lois Curry, Ordo Praedicatorum (OP), who would become her cherished best friend and mentor.
When not serving others, she was an avid sports fan. Patty’s favorite teams were Notre Dame Seattle Seahawks, and the NY Yankees.
She is survived by her father, Marco M. Pici of Northeast, MD and the late Mary C. Nestor, loving sister of Marca DeVincenzo and her husband Paul DeVincenzo of Harrisburg, PA, Cherished aunt of Dominick DeVincenzo of Arlington, VA and Gianna DeVincenzo of New York, NY.
The Visitation is being held at the LaMonica Memorial Home in Livingston on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 3-7 pm.
The funeral will commence at the funeral home on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 8:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Holy Angels, Little Falls, at 10 am and Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
