Michael Thomas Papa Sr.

Born and raised in Newark to the late Catherine (nee Cecere) and John Papa, lived in Roseland for most of his life before moving to Caldwell in 2009.

Following his education, Michael opened his own hair salon, Michael’s Coiffeur, first in Newark and then East Hanover, where he worked as a beautician almost 20 years. He then worked over 40 years as an independent financial advisor before retiring in 2019.

He was the beloved husband of Jean (nee Fiore) Papa, devoted father of John Papa and wife Debby, Robert Papa and wife Josie, and the late Michael T. Papa, Jr. and Gina Papa, dear brother of the late John Papa, cherished grandfather of Michael T. Papa, III, Esq., Alyssa Loughlin and husband Matthew, Marisa Papa, and Luke Papa, and loving companion of Rosemary Beneduci.

Visitation will take place at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 4-8 pm.

The funeral will commence at the funeral home on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 9 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell at 10:30 am and the entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
