Lynn was born to Charlie and Renee (Kaufman) Heilbronner on October 11th, 1952, in Jackson Heights, New York. Lynn graduated from Southside High School in Rockville Centre, New York and attended Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Gary Berman on November 27th, 1994 and they lived together in Randolph, New Jersey until they recently moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
Lynn was an entrepreneur and ahead of the times in a predominately male industry. She founded SWK Inc. (an IT consulting company, named after her grandfather and son Samuel Walter Kaufman / Shaun Warren Klein) back in 1987 from her home in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Today the company employs over one hundred and eighty people across the US and Canada and is on the NASDAQ. Lynn was very active in her Jewish studies, even in her adult life, and was a Bat Mitzvah within the last fifteen years. She was passionate about passing down her traditions to her family. Lynn was a cancer survivor, a knitting enthusiast, a best friend to many, a phenomenal cook and lover of art, design and fashion.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Gary Berman, her children Shaun Klein & Melanie Klein, Sydney Berman, and Perry Berman, her newly born grandson Felix Klein, her siblings, Fred and Nancy Heilbronner, Robyn Alper and Jerome Alper, and her in-laws Donna and Joseph Amabile. She leaves behind her loving great aunt Mildred, her nine nieces and nephews , Jennifer, Sarah, Josh, Shaun, Amanda, Benjamin, Zachary, Olivia and Rebecca, and her four grand nieces and nephews, Penelope, Esther, Solomon and Charles. Lynn was also a proud dog mom to Jake. She was pre-deceased by her parents Charles and Renee Heilbronner.
Funeral services will be held at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston, New Jersey on Sunday, April 7th, 2019 at 10:00am. A burial will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey. The family will sit Shiva immediately following the burial, and on Monday, April 8th from 4PM thru 9pm, at Gary’s sister Donna Berman Amabile’s residence at 415 Ironwood Lane, Morganville, New Jersey 07751.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.The family would also like to thank their loving friends and family for their outpour of unconditional love and support during this difficult time.
