Joyce Ann Petriella-Phillips

Joyce Petriella-Phillips of West Orange, NJ passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2024 at the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center located in Livingston, NJ surrounded by her family. Joyce, a former resident of Livingston, NJ, is remember for her infectious smile, caring demeanor, gentle ways and her love for animals especially her cats.

Joyce was a 1972 graduate of the Marylawn of the Oranges formerly located in South Orange, NJ. Following high school graduation Joyce went on to have a multifaceted career which began as a middle school science teacher and transitioned into becoming a chemist for both The Mennen Company formerly located in Morris Township, NJ and Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company formerly located in East Hanover, NJ. From there Joyce went on to open her own residential cleaning company, Personal Touch Incorporated of Randolph, NJ, which she owned and operated for several years. For the last 23 years Joyce was employed by Kings Supermarkets in Bedminster, NJ where she worked as an events planner and catering coordinator. The annual Far Hills Race was her main event and every September and October it would become her sole focus.

Joyce was predeceased by her father, Paul, mother, Evelyn, and her cats Sammy, Oreo and Precious. She is survived by her husband, Richard, son, Shea, daughter-in-law Sheila, granddaughter, Sienna, grandson, Shawn, sisters Joan and Judy, and countless other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family that are too numerous to mention.

Joyce has left a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her that will never be filled. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Roseland Animal Hospital located at 215 Eagle Rock Avenue Roseland, NJ 07068.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, from 2-6 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. A prayer service will held on Wednesday at 5:30 PM. Cremation will be private.
