Dr. Harold M. Fischer, 90, of West Orange for many years, died at home on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Before moving to his son's home in Parsippany a few months ago, Dr. Fischer spent the last three years of his life as a resident of Daughter's of Israel in West Orange. Prior to living in West Orange, he lived in Short Hills for many years. He was a veteran of WWII in the US Army, and went on to attend Chicago Medical School. Dr. Fischer was a well respected doctor in his own practice in Elizabeth, NJ. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Chicago Medical School Alumni Association, and was a member of MENSA. He was a member of Crestmont Country Club for many years.
Dr. Fischer is survived by three loving children: Russell Fischer, Richard Fischer (Stephanie), and Randi Fischer, their mother Annette Fischer, two devoted grandchildren: Zachary and Stephen Fischer, and a cherished sister-in-law Ilene Fischer. He was predeceased by his brother Dr. Donald Fischer.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at B'nai Jeshurun Cemetery, Hillside, NJ. Memorial donations may be made in Dr. Fischer's name to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
