Hannah R. Abeles passed away Monday April 29th, 2024 at her home in Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, NJ. Hannah was born on November 12, 1924 in Newark, NJ. to Ruth and Arthur Reichman.
Hannah was predeceased by her husband Robert S. Abeles and her brothers Walter and Julian Reichman.
Hannah was an inspiration to her son Kenneth Abeles and his wife Sandy and to her daughter Janet and her husband Robert Kahane. Hannah had two grandchildren, Samuel Kahane and his wife Alison and Julia Kahane. Hannah recently became a great-grandmother to Zachary Kahane.
Hannah grew up in Newark, NJ and attended Weequahic High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin. She married Robert in 1949 and lived in West Orange, NJ for 66 years before moving to Bradley Beach and Tinton Falls. Hannah was a member of Oheb Shalom Congregation for 75 years.
She was an active quilter who also enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and mah-jong with her friends.
Services were held Thursday May 2, 2024 at Bernheim-Apter Chapel. She is buried at Oheb Shalom Cemetery in Hillside, NJ
Shiva will be held Sunday May 5, 2024 at the home of Kenneth and Sandy Abeles, Bradley Beach, NJ
