Frank A. Pinto, 82, retired North Bergen Police Detective, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Nov. 22, 2017 with family at his side.Born and raised in Hoboken, N.J., by his parents Frank and Anna, Frank settled in the neighboring town of North Bergen, where he raised his children Frank Jr., Darlene, Debbie, Diane, Denise, Dennis and Dana, instilling in them the true meaning of the word family. Frank would also become the proud Grandfather of Kellyann, Jennifer, Neil, Craig, Christopher, Corey, Casey, Taylor and Tori, as well as, Great Grandfather of Maverick, Charlotte, Hailey, Kylee, Austin and Caysen, all of whom he loved dearly.
Throughout his life time, Frank would demonstrate the qualities of a true leader, roll model, humanitarian and proud father. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army National Guard, Frank would service as a director in the Boy Scout Troop #142 in Union City. Those endeavors, a paragon for ethical standards,would shape and mold his character's ability to become a respected advocate, not only in his community, but as a police officer throughout his career.
Frank's many accomplishments would go on to include: Past President/State Delegate of Local 18, Life time member of the N.J. State P.B.A. and Honor Legion, Vice President of the F.0.P. Lodge #46, Vice Chair of the Hudson County Conference Police Board, member of the St. Anthony's Holy Name Society, Past President and Lt. Governor of the Secaucus Kiwanis Club, Chairman of the Secaucus Library Mini Fair, volunteer at the Integrity House for drug addiction, shared Unico's Man of the Year Award with life long friend and mentor David Toma of 40 years, Hudson County's Man of the year recipient, member of the State Board for Special Olympics, he created the first ever Bullet Proof Vest fund for the N.B. Police Dept., awarded numerous accommodations for outstanding police work throughout his distinguished career and would continue accumulating a copious amounts praise and accolades while retired.
Frank A. Pinto, a dedicated family man, a man of true integrity, a compassionate soul.
