Wanda Mae (Ferrell) Moore, age 101, entered Heaven’s gates on April 5. Born in McCrory, Arkansas in May 1923 to W.O. and Bertha Ferrell, Wanda grew up in Bradley County. She graduated from Warren High School as Class of 1941 Salutatorian. Her family moved to California during World War II, then returned to Arkansas, where Wanda settled in Little Rock. She married Jesse Moore in 1949, and they had three children. In Little Rock, she was a member of Second Baptist Church, and later Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. To be closer to family, Wanda moved to Plano, Texas in 2009 and then to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse, her son, Dr. Steven Moore, her brother Lawrence Ferrell, and countless other family and friends. She is survived by daughter Kay Payton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter Leslie Elledge (Mark) of Frisco, Texas, grandchildren Drew (Charity), Laura, Audrey (Carlos) and Seth (Ellen), and daughter-in-law Kathy Buchanan. A graveside service will be in Little Rock on Saturday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wanda’s name to Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
