Ginger is better known by family and hometown friends of McCrory as Virginia Ann Morris or Gin Cyr. She was the daughter of Shelby Morris, Sr. and Luvenia “Sis” Holder Backus.
She was born on October 12, 1942 in Parkin, Arkansas. She graduated from McCrory High School, where she was a cheerleader. After leaving High School it was evident the she had a sharp mind for figures. She worked in bookkeeping & accounting and was convinced that she had found her forte. Ginger became the Office Manager for Paul Morrell Formalwear in Little Rock, AR, and retired from the company that she loved after 30 years.
Ginger led an active life enjoying outings with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and enjoyed feeding the swans from her patio. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.
Ginger was preceded in death by her grandparents Ed and Agnes Holder, her parents, her sister Jeanie (Morris) Wallis, and great-nephew Billy Brandon Lawson.
Ginger is survived by a nephew, Billy Wallis of Griffithville, AR; nieces, Teresa (Wallis) Lawson of McCrory, AR and Sheila (Wallis) Calhoun of Newport, AR; great-nephew Jeffery Lawson, great-niece Tara (Lawson) Holland, both of McCrory; son Scott Cyr Christi) of Mabelvale, AR, daughter Connie (Cyr) Jackson (Stan) of Little Rock, AR; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind a special Uncle, Wayne Holder and a host of cousins, and friends, including a cherished friend Jeff Cothren. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock 501) 661-9111. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Fakes Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 17 North, Mc Crory, Arkansas with Rev. Carla Thompson officiating.
