Scott Moffitt

On Friday, November 26, 2021, Scott Franklin Moffitt made his entrance into Heaven, where his eyes beheld his Lord and Savior.

Scott was born on September 6, 1961, to Clint and Dean Moffitt. The youngest of three children, Scott's special needs became the rallying point for his parents, his sister Marty Hamric, and his brother Ed Moffitt. Scott loved being on the go, enjoying a good meal, listen to his favorite music, and being a part of any celebration. Scott had a sense of humor and loved to tease his nieces and nephews: Brooklyn Madding, Jonathan Hamric, Andrew Moffitt, Tyler Hamric, and Victoria Smith. His family loved the Scott-isms: "Me froo," "Me almost got a nibble, " and "Coffee makes me happy."

Scott attended Cabot Public Schools; at age 21, he became a part of the Pathfinder, Inc. community whose group homes, staff, and fellow clients became his home and extended family. He was employed at the Pathfinder Workshop in Jacksonville. He worshipped at Zion Hill Baptist Church of Cabot for many years and loved his Sunday school class, led by Ricky Bridges.

Scott leaves behind his mother, Dean Moffitt, who was his constant advocate throughout his journey and his two siblings. He will be missed by many relatives and friends who have an enduring love for Scott.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Clint Moffitt, Jr., and his grandparents: Clint and Mary Scott Moffitt and Melvin and Quilly Stallings.

A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Cabot in the Fellowship Hall. Visitation will be from 10 -11 a.m., followed by the service officiated by Bro. Dick Avey. Interment will be at Sixteenth Section Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend special appreciation to the many staff members of Pathfinders, Inc., who loved Scott as their own; to Zion Hill Baptist Church; to Heritage Living Center of Conway; and to the many physicians who took care of Scott's needs.
