Patrick Joseph Sullivan

Patrick Joseph Sullivan, age 77, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Alfred Michael and Dorothy Jane Sullivan. In addition to his parents, Pat is preceded in death by his nephew, Shea Michael Sullivan.

A lifelong resident of Arkansas, Pat attended Catholic High School and went on to earn a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Arkansas. He dedicated his career to the Arkansas Highway Department, where he thrived in his role and formed lasting friendships with colleagues.

Pat was proudly married to his beautiful wife, Janice Caroline Sullivan, for 33 wonderful years. Together, they were inseparable, sharing countless adventures and cherished moments with family and friends. One of their favorite retreats was their houseboat at Brady Mountain, Lake Ouachita, where they created lasting memories.

His daughter, Shannon Michelle, held a special place in his heart. As a devoted father, he worked tirelessly to ensure she felt loved, protected, and supported. The joy of being a grandfather brought him immense happiness, and he delighted in introducing his grandchildren to new adventures, just as he had with Shannon.

While he may have appeared tough on the outside, Pat's true nature was one of deep kindness and compassion. He embraced life with a spirit of adventure, enjoying flying airplanes, boating, skiing, hunting, and riding motorcycles and ATVs. He cherished family gatherings, especially his annual Thanksgiving celebrations, which brought loved ones together in laughter and joy. His love for animals was evident in his affection for his kitties, Lulu and Sneakers, as well as the pet deer he faithfully fed in his yard.

Generous and charitable, Pat was a strong supporter of the Little Rock Compassion Center, a mission dedicated to providing hope to those experiencing homelessness and hunger. His commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on the community.

Those left to cherish Pat's memory include his beloved wife of 33 years, Janice Sullivan; daughter, Shannon Michelle Sullivan-Marsden and her children: grandchildren, Sidney Abigail Marsden and Colby Sullivan Marsden. Sister, Mary Anne Sullivan and her children: Kristin (Keith) Jennifer Sexton, Quinn Patrick Schratz, Carey Tyler Schratz, and grandchildren: Peyton Holland Schratz, Sullivan Lee Schratz, Anderson Quinn Schratz, Kutler Joseph Schratz, Luke Joseph Sexton, and Jacob Michael Sexton. Sister, Kathleen (William Fiedler) Maria Sullivan and children: Colin (Isabel Meagan Guerra) James Major, Kyle Michael Major, Irene Franek, and Adeline Marie Major. Brother, Michael Thomas Sullivan, and his daughter, Erin Ann Sullivan, as well as grandson Aiden Michael Sullivan. As well as Sister-in-law Patsy (Roy) Williams, and his nephew Brian (Joanne) Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Little Rock Humane Society or the Little Rock Compassion Center in Pat's memory.
