Margaret B Roberts

Margaret B. Roberts, 81, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Marge was born in 1935 in Haynesville, Louisiana, to Gerald and Katherine Bryant. She was raised in the Baptist faith and found security in a deeply personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Marge’s life included love, adventure, and success as well as pain and disappointment, but her legacy will be her ability to love, forgive, and encourage. She was a major influence with the Little Rock Friends of the Zoo and later worked directly with the members of the Arkansas State Board of Education, but her greatest accomplishment was raising four incredibly independent children who all agree that their mom’s influence in their lives was instrumental in preparing them for life. But they were not alone in benefiting from her care and wisdom. Marge’s great love and unconditional support overflowed onto other fortunate young lives and her family was extended beyond the limits of birth and marriage. Just as it would be impossible to count every beat of our hearts, it is impossible to know the depth of Marge’s impact upon our world, but this is sure: the rhythm of life has been interrupted because she is gone. Fortunately, we will still see her in the lives of the ones she loved so well. Marge was preceded in death by her parents and her only daughter, Joyce Lynne Roberts. Her family who will celebrate her life and cherish her memories include her three sons Doug Roberts of Little Rock, Bruce (Annie) Roberts of New Zealand, and Troy (Vivian) Roberts of Texas, her son-in-law Charles "Sonny" Whaley of Georgia, her sister Geraldine Terry, her brother James Bryant, ten grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her extended family. Friends are invited to join the family in remembering Marge from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, June 16, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., in Little Rock. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Marge's memory to Little Rock Friends of the Zoo, 1 Zoo Drive, Little Rock, AR. 72205.
