Lillian Arlene McEntire Mathews, 87, of Roland, AR, peacefully passed from this earth on December 21, 2016. She was born on January 2, 1929 to Herman and Ammie McEntire of Little Rock, AR. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Goshien; her children, Steven Mathews, Tena Clark (Tom), and Brenda Perry (David); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, GW Mathews, her sister, Lydia Adeline Whitt, and her brothers, Gene McEntire and Lynn McEntire. Lillian grew up in the Fourche Dam Pike area of Little Rock, and was a proud homemaker for much of her life. She met her husband, GW, after he returned from his military duty in World War II. They raised their family in western Pulaski County. When her children became older, she worked for the Casual Corner clothing store and eventually retired from the Arkansas Revenue Department. Lillian was an active member of the New Hope Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith in Little Rock and devoted much of her time to church ministry. She was loved by all of her friends and family. A graveside service will be held to celebrate her life on Tuesday, December 27th at 10:00 AM at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander, AR 72002. Deacon Ron Stager will officiate the service. Her body will lie in state at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home from 12:00-8:00. 5800 W. 12th Street. Little Rock, AR 72204.
