Drucille B. Gilbert departed this earth on September 10, 2017. She was born in Patmos, AR on July 4, 1938 to Edna Blackwell. Drucille retired in 2001 after 35 years as teacher, counselor, and school principal at the Alexander Youth Services Center in Alexander, AR. She was a lifelong member, and very active at Geyer Springs United Methodist Church and served as past and present chairperson of the United Methodist Women’s Group. She also served on all the administrative components of the church, serving as Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was the current president of the local TOPS International group. She had a lifelong interest in animal rescue and their well-being. She was a very active bowler and enjoyed many bowling tournament trips and bowled every week with her bowling team. She is preceded in death by her mother Edna Blackwell and her late husband Ervin Gilbert. She is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Washburn, one son, Brian Carrio, two grandsons, Allen Carrio and Garret Voth. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend Linda Tolefree, her family, and more grand and great-grandchildren too numerous to name. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Geyer Springs United Methodist Church with her celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the animal welfare institute of your choice.
