Danny Delane Hayes was born on August 8, 1956 in Van, AR to Mr. and Mrs. Percy and Essie (Duncan) Hayes, Sr. He was and always will be the baby of the family, with too many stories to tell about playing with his dump trucks and finally getting to get on the truck as he got older.
He attended Key School (Elementary) where Mrs. Love (still living) was his 1st grade teacher. Danny graduated from DeWitt High School class of 1974. He was a proud Dragon and kept in touch with most of his classmates.
At an early age, Danny accepted Jesus as his loving savior and Son of God. He was a member of Nichols Chapel AME Church, DeWitt, AR and continued his journey with Christ as a faithful member of Union AME Church in Little Rock, AR.
Danny married well in June of 1976 to Lucille Hayes and 3 blessed children resulted, Adrian (AJ), April (Christopher and Caleb), and Jonathan (Nathaniel, Nehamiah Jace, and Nova Ann).
Danny started his professional driving career as a Forklift Operator in 1976 at Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He excelled in every area of expertise when it came to driving and quickly advanced to becoming a Long Haul Truck Driver in 1977. His career included several Fortune 500 companies such as, Saia Motor Freight, Yellow Motor Freight, Little Rock Tour Bus Company, and Old Dominion Freight lines. Daddy always said 'If you got it, a truck brought it!' He loved his career and it loved him back.
Daddy enjoyed grilling on his new custom rotisserie smoker. He helped the youth of Union AME with dinner fundraisers, and always joined the Son's of Allen Men's Day Chili cook-off, where he secretly knew he won the title of Best Cook. He put love into his meals, and he was proud to serve it up! He was a true San Francisco 49ers football fan, and wouldn't stand for any smack to be talked about Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors!
Danny made his transition to Glory on Friday September 25, 2020 in Dallas, TX doing what he loved to do.
