Cheryl Jeanette Hunter was born in Malvern, Arkansas on February 10, 1980, to Carrie J. Hunter and the late Bobby J. Hunter. The family relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1984 where Cheryl attended Little Rock schools and graduated from Parkview High School in 1998.
Upon graduation, Cheryl continued her education at Henderson State University and later transferred to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Cheryl began her working career as a property manager, and later transitioned to media communications with AT&T and Verizon Wireless both in Dallas and Little Rock.
Cheryl accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Trumpet In Zion Ministries (currently known as Awareness Center International). At TIZ, she sang in the choir and was a part of the youth ministry. While living in the Dallas area, Cheryl connected with New Nation Church and faithfully served under the leadership of Pastors Chris and Felicia Dexter.
Cheryl was known for her outgoing personality, always embracing strangers and others in need of her help and compassion. She loved to host parties and gatherings for family and friends. Cheryl also possessed wisdom beyond her years and many sought her excellent counseling. Despite life’s many challenges, Cheryl always maintained a positive attitude and her faith in God never wavered.
Cheryl is survived by her mother, Carrie J. Hunter; two sisters, Karen and Crystal Hunter; a brother, Michael (Anita); a niece, Asia Samone Hatley and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Bobby J. Hunter, and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Cheryl is also survived by the love of her life, Maurice Brewer and their fur baby, Maxi Lynn Denim.
Visitation will be Friday, September 28, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home in Little Rock, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
