Billie Jean Staley, 79, passed away Saturday, September 2, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was predeceased by her parents, Herman Joseph and Mary Frances Sadler. Left to remember her timeless beauty are her daughters Kimberly and son-in-law Roger Aspholm, and Kyla Gillespie, her grandchildren Megan (Rick) Handy, Molly (Matt) Jones, Jameson Miller, Finley Aspholm, and Harper Gillespie, and her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Carson, Parker, Austin, and Lucy.
Billie was very meticulous in everything she set out to accomplish. This was a trait displayed in her young adult years while doing secretarial work for National Investors, Coca-Cola, AQ Chicken, TCBY Enterprises Inc., and General Electric. Out of all secretarial positions, Billie took the most pride in working as the Assistant to the Director of Public Health at the Little Rock Health Department; where she retired from in July 2013.
Billie grew up square dancing, and later branched out into learning and perfecting ballroom style dancing. She blossomed into quite the dancer over the years and loved to go out dancing with her friend’s on Tuesday and Saturday nights. Aside from dancing, Billie played the piano, competed in beauty pageants, and had a keen eye for art and decorating. Billie also loved flowers and gardening, Starbucks coffee, Angel perfume, and Razorbacks football, basketball, and baseball. While she loved all of those things and more, her last true love was for her dog Belle.
Graveside service will be at 11am on September 28, 2023, at Pinecrest Memorial Park and Garden, located at 7401 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002. The Reverend Britt Skarda will be officiating.
