William Edward Hollifield Jr.

William Edward Hollifield, Jr., age 80, of Little River, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 19, 1941 he was the son of the late William E. Hollifield, Sr. and Mabel Smith Hollifield.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Rebecca Williams Hollifield; daughter, Candace Hollifield Sperati (John); brothers, Ronald Hollifield, Jerry Hollifield, Sr.; granddaughter, Kieran Hope Sperati; nieces, Julie Hollifield, Gretchen Hollifield Ewers; nephews, Jerry Hollifield, Jr. and Jake Hollifield.

Following graduation in 1959 from Mecklenburg High School, William, fondly known as Eddie, joined the US Army and served until 1963. He then attended Calvin Academy where he majored in Film and Media. Eddie worked for WBTV in Charlotte as news photographer, and later as sports and commercial videographer and producer for many years. He had a true passion for film work. After retiring from WBTV he worked for various venues as a videographer and producer in several different states including Florida, Texas and Rhode Island before retiring in Fort Myers, Florida. He also spent a special year in South America. When he wasn't behind the camera, William enjoyed traveling, boating, sports events, beach music, creating on his IMAC computer and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved his feline companions. He finally settled in Little River in 2021.
