Rosaleen “Rosie” Bierwagen passed away suddenly on December 18, 2024 at the age of 73. Rosie was born July 23, 1951 in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the DuBois Area High School class of 1969 and a 1973 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where she earned a BS in Consumer Related Studies and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.
Rosie's career in the insurance industry took her to Denver, Colorado, where she met and married her husband, Hans. Their family grew with the addition of their daughter, Frances “Franny”. They lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jacksonville and Venice Beach, Florida before finally landing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She loved her family, her cats, her country, the beach, fashion, and the Beatles. She was an avid Mah-Jongg player and instructor and taught many others to love the game.
Rosie was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach.
She had a style all her own and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank A. and Kathleen (Steudler) Costanzo; her brother, Joseph G. Costanzo; and niece, Wendy Costanzo.
She is survived by her husband, Hans Bierwagen, Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter, Frances “Franny” Bierwagen of Charlotte County, FL; her sisters Kathleen Pitzer (Bud), Leland, NC; Valerie Lepko (Ben), Greensboro, NC; and Amy Costanzo Kline, Little River, SC; sister-in-law Robin Costanzo, Surfside Beach, SC; as well as her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
