Phillip Kermit Lee Sr., 65, passed away peacefully on May 2nd in his home in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC on May 7th, 1953.
After attending New Academy in Rocky Mount and East Carolina University, in 1975, he began his career at John Deere. He began working with John Deere in Conyers, GA, before becoming a sales representative in Orangeburg, SC. He and his father purchased their first John Deere dealership in Washington, NC, in 1981. They later went on to own dealerships in Eastern North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
Phillip married Lynn Harris on June 11, 1977, in Rocky Mount, NC. They had three children together; Christy, Hayes, and Phillip. Their children were raised in Washington, NC. Phillip later moved to North Myrtle Beach where he married his present wife Tamara Lynn. Phillip was an avid tennis player and enjoyed sharing his love of the game with his family. As a passionate East Carolina University Alum, he enjoyed being a Pirate Club Member and giving back to the school.
Phillip is survived by his wife Tamara Lee of home; daughter, Christy Botros and her husband Lucas Botros of Greensboro, NC, daughter, Hayes McCaffrey and her husband Matthew McCaffrey of Raleigh, NC, son, Phillip Lee Jr. of Greenville, NC; sister, Becky Rouse of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandsons Harrison and Tucker Botros; and granddaughter Anna Lee Botros of Greensboro, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 4th at Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Little River, SC.
