Velvet was the rep for my area at Link 2 Sales. She was by far not only my favorite rep but my favorite person as well. She was a bright light with her smile and laugh always a dear friend. I knew her for many years her presence in this world will be greatly missed. My condolences to her loved ones.

Velvet was our dear, sweet neighbor,  and we are going to miss her so much.  She made us feel welcome from the day we moved in, with her spunky personality and beautiful smile.  Erin and Michael, we were truly blessed to get to know your mom.  Hugs and prayers to you both! 
Rest assured that she is now healed and whole, wrapped in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures of Velvet! As a co-worker, I always looked forward to seeing her at our shows and hearing her contagious laugh! She was such a sweet, kind hearted person and I have and will always miss her!

Velvet was a long-time employee of our company, part of our Link Family. She was a great salesperson , great team member, and someone who had an impact. As anyone knows reading this--she was funny, spunky, and full of life. 

We've lost a family member but Velvet will always be remembered. We will see her again in our Heavenly home. 

The Link Companies established the Velvet Callahan Award last fall and we'll have our first recipient this Dec. It's a special award given each year to an employee that's had a positive, inspiring impact on the world around them in the previous year. 

We'll pray for the family and we'll pray for peace and comfort as only He can give.

I' am sorry to hear about Velvet she was such a beautiful lady. I remember when we all went to the Church of God in Shallotte together her family was such a wonderful family. 


Had the pleasure of meeting this wonder lady and her sweet dog (fell in love with the both instantly) Although we only knew Velvet for a short time she made a huge impression on us and she and my sister shared a bond after they meet. My sister often would aske me about Velvet and I would let her know that she was often thought of. Rest in Peach Sweet Lady. Our hearts and prays go out to her family and dear friends.

Velvet was one of my closest and dearest friends.  My mind is full of so many memories and my heart is broken.  

It’s hard to know where to begin.  

I could write about her stubbornness and willingness to do something that others wouldn’t.  That big “can do, will do” attitude of hers.  

I could write about the many beach trips where she would have us packed up, car loaded with whatever we might want or need, saying “let’s go, it never rains at the beach!”  

I could write about the countless times I stood in awe of how she could fix her hair and makeup to perfection before we would head out for the evening.

Let’s not forget the delicious meals she would easily prepare.  (She tried to teach me a thing or two about butter beans, potato salad, and chocolate eclair desserts, but they never turned out like hers).  

We spent many late night hours lying in the bed like school girls laughing, sharing secrets, recapping the day’s events, and planning for tomorrow.

I’m sure some of these memories are just mine, and some of them you may nod along to and remember like your own.  No matter who you are, though, you could not know Velvet without knowing the true meaning of a small package with a big punch: Velvet was little but mighty.  She could, and did, do anything she set her mind to.  She was heard and seen everywhere she went, beautiful with or without makeup, and Southern as the day is long.  And just when you thought you couldn’t fit anything else into such a small package, you’d realize that what came bubbling out over the top was love.
