Mikayla was born on August 12, 1999 to Amanda Michelle Barbian (Maffe) and Louis Edwin Metcalf in Manassas, VA. In 2005, Mikayla was introduced to her stepfather, Todd Maffe, who also loved her dearly.
When Mikayla was 14, our family relocated to Waxhaw, NC where Mikayla attended and completed high school at Cuthbertson High. Mikayla was a beautiful cheerleader in high school and loved all of her many friends. Mikayla excelled in school and made all of the hard work she did look so easy. She loved wearing make-up and looking beautiful all the time. She also loved being in the kitchen with her mom and stepdad, helping out anytime we would cook. One of her favorite places to be was on the beach. Mikayla loved listening to music all the time and always tried to take over the speaker :-). Her laugh was so wonderful and contagious - we can still hear it in our hearts.
Mikayla was preceded in death by her grandfather, Louis Edwin Metcalf, III, her stepmother, Shannon Metcalf, her Nana, Dorothy M. Basden, and her uncle, Dennis Kuykendall.
Mikayla will always be remembered and loved by her family including her parents (Amanda, Todd, Louis, and Melissa); her brother, Braeden Metcalf; her sister Haleigh Metcalf; her grandparents, Arlene and Victor Bogo, Richard Barbian, Marilyn Barbian, Amy Casbeer, and James and Mary Alice Maffe; her aunts, Ashleigh Barbian, Audrey Danko, and Laura Maffe; her uncles Hunter Napier, Jeff Maffe, Jeff Danko, and Michael Kuykendall; and her cousins, Danica and Brooke Bennett, Kira, Cole, and Katie Danko, Jayden, Amiyah, and Aria Napier, Jake, Ben, and Will Maffe; and stepbrother and sister, Bryana and Ryley Meyrand.
Her funeral will be held at Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, SC at 10:00 AM on February 4th, 2023.
