I’ll forever appreciate the time I got to spent with my bonus Grandfather. Though he wasn’t naturally very close to me, neither by blood nor by distance, he was always so kind & loving to me. He treated me like one of his own & I’m so grateful for his presence in my life. My favorite memory of him is when I visited him in January of 2022 at his home in South Carolina, & he made sure that I was comfortable & welcomed in his home. He even ran around the house to look for a nightlight to give me, because he knew I was afraid of the dark, even at my big age of 23 years old. He was ill & in pain, but he did everything he could to accommodate me. This was just one of many gestures he made that meant so much to me at the time, & it means even more to me now that he’s gone. 

My name is Denise,  Larry was my Uncle .  I am ashamed to say as I got older I grew farther apart from Uncle Larry and his family and did not see him as much as I should have!  I will always remember when I was  about 9 or 10 he was listening to me telling Aunt Cheryl  and Grandma  how it wasn’t me that took $5 from Aunt Cheryl’s  dresser. He kept looking at me with that quiet gentle,  but skeptical,  smile!  I felt so guilty he knew I did it I could see it in that  smile.  He had a way of making you feel at ease with that smile,  or letting you he knew the truth.   He loved his family and after Grandpa GG passed he took care of my mom,  which I’m sure was no small feet for him.   For that Uncle Larry thank you!  You will always have a place in my heart 🥰 

Larry was an amazing Uncle and I will miss him a lot! He was hard working, honest and always took care of his family. I will love and miss you Uncle Larry, until we meet each other again some day.

Rest in peace  Larry, always called you my cousin. ♥️this was the last time I saw Larry. Was at Uncle Clyde's 90th Birthday  in Tucson AZ.  2016. At dinner the night before.

My name is Mike Krystek and I went to church with Larry when we were teenagers. I will be eternally grateful to Larry because he enabled me to marry the woman I have been married to for 53 years. Her name is Donna and this is the story: Larry was into cars and owned a very beautiful green 1955 Pontiac. He had his seat covers replaced and within a few days took my future wife, Donna, on a date. Donna spilled a Coke on Larry’s seats and that was it. This was the opening I needed so I moved in and the rest is history, very very good history!

So sorry for your loss.  He was a fun loving cousin who loved his family ❤️  

The picture was of Larry and I celebrating our birthdays.  Mine is one day before his.  Sympathy to all the family.  Larry will be missed.
