Born on April 4, 1942 in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of Ruth Emily Peters and Franklin ‘Scoop’ Peters.
Judith was a retired secretary at the New Cumberland Army Depot in New Cumberland, PA. She was an avid reader and loved to shop. She also enjoyed attending Zumba classes and getting together for lunch or breakfast with the ‘Red Hat Ladies’.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Charles W. Hess of Longs, SC; daughters, Kellie A. Smith and Debra L. Smith, both of Longs, SC; sister, Donna K. Davis (Robert) of Longs, SC; brother, Gerald Rittle (Marge) of Little River, SC; son-in-law, Craig P. Drummond of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren, Jenna N. Weirich of Harrisburg, PA, Brittany L. Jarrett (Samuel) of Longs, SC, C. Tyler Drummond (Chelsea) of Longs, SC, , Mackenzie M. Bell (Brad) of Churchton, MD , Nicole L. Scott (Jake) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Michael P. Drummond of Mechanicsburg, PA; great-granddaughters River L. Drummond and Summer L. Scott and one great-grandchild on the way. She is preceded in death by her daughter Terri L. Drummond.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society or McLeod Hospice Services.
Inurnment will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA at a later date.
