John Garnett Ridgeway Jr., 79, of Calabash, NC passed away on Saturday May 4, 2019 peacefully in his sleep.
Born May 20, 1939 in Vienna, VA to John Garnett Ridgeway, Sr. and Elsie Breeden Ridgeway.
John was an iron worker for Local Union 201 in the Washington, D.C. area for many years. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling with his wife before settling in Calabash, NC.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Francis Poole and his brother, Floyd Ridgeway.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Neva Tolliver Ridgeway of Calabash, NC; his son John David Ridgeway and his wife Jan of Conway, SC; his granddaughter Ashley Ridgeway Crocker and her husband Joel of Earlville, IL; his grandson John David Ridgeway II and his wife Ashley of Conway, SC; his great granddaughter Lilly Crocker of Earlville, IL; his great grandsons Van Crocker of Earlville, IL and Hunter Ridgeway of Conway, SC. John is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy, George, Wayne and Danny Ridgeway and sisters Mary Ridgeway, Barbara Bautista and Darlene Shifflett.
John was an active member of Living Savior Baptist Church in Little River, SC. Pastors Mark Collins and Richard Lewis will be officiating the service at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory in Little River, SC at 4:00 pm on Tuesday May 7, 2019. Music will be provided by Regina Lewis.
