Jerry R Strickland

Jerry R Strickland, age 64, of Conway, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Jerry was the son of Oscar Bethea and Jeanette Reese Strickland. He was the brother of Dale William Strickland.

Jerry grew up in Loris, and moved to Walhalla, SC in his late teens, where he lived before returning to Horry County in 2010. He was employed by Edwards Auto Sales in Walhalla for 18 years and Blossman Gas for seven years, where he retired in 2002.

He had a passion for his family, old cars and animals. Jerry was in the process of restoring a 1969 GTO, his pride and joy. He was an avid animal lover, he had three Boston Terriers, Tank, Dollie, Sissy and a lab mix rescue, Brandi. When cats showed up on the doorstep, Jerry would begin to feed them too. He loved going fishing with his son, Jason. Jerry was all about helping, if he saw someone in need, he would stop to help. He was a lifetime member of the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92, a Hejaz Shriner and was of the Baptist faith.

He survived by his wife, Donna, of the home, daughter Chrystal Cherry (Michael) of Walhalla, son, Jason Strickland (Lisa) of Conway, daughter April Coutsos (Rick) of Loris, daughter Amanda Gambrell (Jay) of Greenville, son Brian Campbell of Texas and sister Deborah Strickland of Walhalla. Eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Bethea and Jeanette Reese Strickland, and brother Dale William Strickland.
