Gary Paul Emert, born on November 2, 1955, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in Little River, South Carolina. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, Gary was known for his big blue eyes as well as his unwavering faith and love for the Lord.
Gary spent his early years in Maryland before he and his wife, Renee M Emert relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he continued his 35 year career in the HVAC and refrigeration industry. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish a legacy refrigeration business. Gary’s life was full of vibrance and he loved living near the ocean where he could enjoy wave surfing, bike riding, and his early morning Bible study watching the sunrise. He was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, where he served on the Security Team and the Grounds Team. He also volunteered with Mobile Meals for several years with First Baptist of Myrtle Beach before moving to Longs. He could always be found helping set up and clean up for all the potluck get-togethers and events at the church. He was known for his servant heart and quiet spirit.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Renee Emert, and his daughter, Marcia Folnsbee, married to Zack Folnsbee - grandsons Lucas and Cohen; his son, Kyle Emert - grandsons Kristian and Kolten; and his child in love, Jimi Smith, married to Kim Smith and one grand-daughter in love Kara. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph Emert, Thomas Emert, and Cynthia Wratchford, and many loved nieces, great nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Emert and Gertrude Frances Crable, as well as his daughter in love, Jenna Helm, and grandson in love, Hawk Smith.
Gary’s gentle and kind soul impacted countless others and will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
