When I say that my mom was ready to meet her maker she really was. She spent the last few days of her life getting a permanent and her hair styled, she got a pedicure and a manicure and was in her original home in North Myrtle Beach for the weekend with her daughter Camille. She watched TV and knew all the old actors by their first and last names. Her memory was astounding. She said she has a perfect weekend spending it in her home. She was happy and she felt beautiful.
Camille, mom, Donna and John made arrangements to go to Chucks Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach to celebrate the Ukrainian Byzantine New Year which is January 14th in the afternoon. While Elizabeth was in her home she told Camille that she felt that she was having a stroke. Camille told her to raise her arms, smile, say a sentence, and she did all that perfectly.
Elizabeth walked and got into the car and Camille drove off to go to the restaurant. About 1 mile down the road Elizabeth looked up and Camille asked her what she was looking at. Camille stated that is was the light in roof of the car. But then Elizabeth became unresponsive. Camille pulled into a parking lot and called 911. Camille called Donna and they met up at the parking lot. The ambulance came and Elizabeth was still unresponsive. She passed away at Grand Strand Medical Hospital in Myrtle Beach.
Reverend Fr. Ray Leonard came to the hospital and instituted the Last Rites of the Catholic Church for her.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at The Church of the Resurrection, 2204 Heritage Road, Loris, SC 29569.
