What a great person, friend, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and father-in-law was Mr. Ralph F. Bintz.  When my wife Gladys told me some twenty plus years ago that she and I would be the Godparents at Carmen and Ralphs wedding, I went out to SYMS minutes later and bought a new suit.  Over the years we have spent many evenings and Sunday afternoons with Ralph and Carmen and Ralph was always a gentleman.  Gladys and I could easily see why Carmen was so happy to have Ralph for her husband.  Ralph was always ready to go out to the park, or to a show, or an event, or go for a ride.  He loved to watch sports of all types on TV and have a cold one.  Most recently when he took ill I would visit him at Alden Home at least once a week and often more than that.  I would take him on  long wheelchair rides outside or just down to the coblestone basement  lunchroom when the weather was poor.  I would play cards with him and his buddy's as it always brought a smile to his face.  Often people would ask me why I went to visit Ralph so often and I would tell them (I did the same with my Mom and Dad), because one day he won't be there to go visit. May you rest in peace as the shadow of the almighty passes over but for a moment.  A metamorphosis of being from the temporal to the eternal; from the tangible to the spiritual.   This is but the beginning of the rest of your life.  The life that you now leave, full of testimony and trial, is fading away into memory and history.  I hope that your life will resonate and influence the hearts and minds of those who you now leave behind and who knew you well. Pointing towards our Creator, the author and finisher of faith in His promise, who has prepared a place for those who earnestly seek him out.  Take care and journey well.  Soli Deo Gloria.

I will miss you Uncle Ralph. You always traveled with Carmen for my family's special occasions such as anniversaries and weddings. You were always there for us and I really enjoyed all the times together. I especially remember when you came to Wauconda with your family when I was a child and my spending time with you in Chicago. I will always cherish the twinkle in your eyes and am saddened by your passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Carmen, Joanne, Jim, Paula and Tom and all of their families and friends.

My sincerest condolences to Carmen, Gladys, George, Gloria, their families and extended family  on the passing of dear Ralph. What a wonderful man he was. Always kind and thoughtful. He always made everybody feel welcome and cared for. A VERY wonderful person, Ralph will be so missed. May God bless and keep his memory alive in the family he loved so much. I will always remember his kindness to my family and his smile and pleasant manner. A great loss to us all. Rest in peace dear Ralph.

Now that Ralph has joined his brothers and sister into the great beyond our thoughts and prayers go out to Carmen, and Ralph's children in their time of need. He was the last of his generation. He was close to my father, his oldest brother and I got to see him quite a bit when I was growing up. He was always happy and could light up a room with his smile. I remember the last time he visited us in Arizona in 2006. My father was quite ill. Ralph's really cheered him up. He knew how to enjoy the simple things (important things) in life. Wherever he is now, I hope his paradise includes ballroom dancing.

Our hearts go out to you Carmen. Ralph was a wonderful Uncle and person. He will be sorely missed and will always live in our hearts and prayers.
