Maripat E. Shaw, age 89, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 15th, 1935 in Shorewood WI, to the late Gerald and Gertrude Malone. She graduated from Messmer High School in 1953 where she met the love of her life, Bob Shaw. They married on October 2nd, 1954, and moved to the east side of Milwaukee, where they raised six children.
Maripat was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of both Saints Peter and Paul and St. Robert’s Church. She was involved in many church activities and enjoyed coaching and watching her children in various sports . She led the prayer chain at St. Robert’s for many years, praying for the intentions of the parishioners and their loved ones. She also volunteered and baked cookies for the local food pantry. She had a generous heart and a warm smile that touched many lives.
Maripat loved playing bridge with her friends, watching baseball games, and traveling with her husband. Her favorite past times were spending time with her family and friends, hosting family gatherings, celebrating birthdays, graduations and weddings. She was a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother, who always had a story to tell, and a hug to give.
Maripat is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bob Shaw; her children, Michael (Linda) Shaw, Kathleen (Scott) Rick, Sally (Steven) Cummings, Molly (Michael) Wagner and Margaret Shaw; her 13 grandchildren, Jake, Patrick, Megan, Evan, Taylor, Cameron, Chase, Carson, Madeline, Haley, Margaret, William and Lily Bonneau and her seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Violet, Leo, Charlotte, Elliot, Anderson and Florence. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara (Joseph) Pagac, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kay Schaefer, and her beloved son Timothy Shaw.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:45 am at St. Robert’s Church, 4019 North Farwell, Shorewood, WI 53211. A mass to follow at noon. Private Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
