Leona was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Anna (Jakubik) Hajduk, 5 siblings, Richard Hajduk, Barbara Lojewski, Lottie Korbelak, Edward Hajduk, and Thomas Hajduk.
Mrs. Pasternak worked in the St. Adalbert’s Rectory and sang in the church choir for many years. Besides being a devoted member of the church, she spent her time spoiling her grandchildren, and taking care of her beloved husband and home. Leona (better known as Grammy), was a magician with a sewing machine, could make the best cheesecake, and always hit it big at the casinos. Grammy will always be known for her selfless attitude, and generosity towards her family and even strangers. She was as tough as nails, strong-minded, and a powerful woman.
She is survived by her spouse Stanley Pasternak, whom she was married to for 64 years. Stanley and Leona were inseparable. Their love cannot be described in such a short paragraph, truly a relationship only written about in romance novels and movies.
She is also survived by her children Christopher Pasternak (Lisa Pasternak), Paul Pasternak (Lisa Pasternak), and Geralyn Velez (Pasternak); her grandchildren Christian Pasternak, Stephanie Cox (Mathew Cox), Sarah Pasternak-McGinn (Sean McGinn), Lucia Pasternak-Caggiano (Michael Caggiano), Caroline Velez, and Katherine Velez; and great grandchildren Sophia Jo Cox and baby McGinn.
