Jack was born on December 31, 1947, to Michael and Julia Verdon Jersey City, NJ. After graduating high school at St. Aloysius in Jersey City, Jack worked at First Boston Corporation-Credit Swiss at the World Trade Center Building 5 and in retirement worked at Home Depot in Roselle, NJ. In his free time, Jack could be found actively serving his community and church, supporting various social causes, elevating his wife’s blood pressure, getting kicked out of his children’s sporting events for being too rowdy, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals, and putting on talent shows during weekly sleepovers with his grandchildren. Jack was a devout Catholic and participated in various church activities and events throughout his life.
Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Misyak Verdon, his children Marie Verdon, Jean Hansen and her husband Joseph Hansen, and John Verdon; his sister Sr. Mary Ellen Verdon, and his grandchildren, John Noonan, Elizabeth Noonan, Joseph Noonan, and Joseph Hansen. Jack is predeceased by his older brother Thomas Verdon of Elizabeth, NJ.
Services will be held on Wednesday September 15, 2021, at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home in Linden, NJ from 5pm-9pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Genevieve’s Church in Elizabeth, NJ on Thursday September 16, 2021 at 10 am. Jack will be laid to rest at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
