Douglas McArthur Hamilton was born January 25, 1943 in Early Branch, S.C. to the late Reverend Preston Hamilton Sr. and Manago Constance Jones Hamilton.
Douglas was educated in Early Branch ,S.C. and Ridgeland Public School System. The family later moved to Elizabeth, N.J. where he worked as an self employed long distance Truck Driver.
On Wednesday February 2, 2022 Douglas entered into eternal rest at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, N.J. He was predeceased by his wife Louise Greene-Hamilton, four brothers Preston Hamilton Jr., Billie Hamilton, Deacon Ben Hamilton, and Donald Allen and one sister Getsie Mae Frazier.
Douglas leaves to cherish his memory four children Bernard Hamilton of Bluffton, S.C., Douglas Wendell Hamilton Jr. of Elizabeth N.J., Bridget Farmer( Donald) of Roselle, N.J., Donnell Leak (Kawanna) of Elizabeth, N.J., His step children Donald Greene Jr., Jauwand Greene, Aishah Delaney (Darin) of New Jersey, eleven grand children and six great grand children. One brother Abraham Hamilton of Elizabeth, N.J., four sisters Sarah Hamilton Hazel of Yemassee, S.C., Lillie Hamilton Ward of Early Branch, S.C., Cora Rizzo(Jimmy) of Blackwood, N.J., and Shirley Nesmith of Camden, N.J., two sister -in-laws Emma Patron and Sarah Pought of New York, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. And a special thanks to Ellis Larry Holt, Artie McDufie, Son -in- law Donald Farmer, Raymon Thomas and cousin James Earl Collins..
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, singing, humming, dancing, listening to music, and watching his old western movies and being with family and friends.
