Wallace B. Collingsworth "Wally," "WB," "Dub", 92, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on February 3, 2024. Wallace was born to Leroy and Catherine Collingsworth on July 2, 1931, in Seymour, Texas. He grew up alongside his three siblings, Robert Collingsworth, Vera Huso, and Betty Harding, in a vibrant and loving family.
Wallace ventured to Lincoln, Nebraska, for his college education at Union College, a decision that would shape his future in ways he could never have imagined. It was here that he met his lifelong sweetheart, Gloria Scott. Their college romance blossomed into a beautiful marriage, from which four children were born: Bruce, Connie, Breck, Blake Collingsworth.
Professionally, Wallace was a visionary in the home building industry, dedicating over 50 years to crafting homes that families cherished. His innovative spirit led him to create his own paint formula, founding Qualitone Paint Manufacturing, a company that mirrored his commitment to excellence and innovation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Wallace was a man of many passions. Golf was not just a hobby but a pursuit that brought him immense joy and relaxation. He was also an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity for learning, always seeking to understand how things worked and how they could be improved or done uniquely.
Wallace's legacy is carried on by his five children: Bruce and his wife, Char; Connie and her husband, Allen Wilcox; Breck and his wife, Tracy; Blake and his wife, Kathy; and Susan Wilson. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Alexa, Elise, Cameron, Brandon, Addison, Sawyer, Paxton, Connor, Grant, Samantha and five great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Wallace's life and legacy will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 6th, 2024. In lieu of flowers, Wallace's wish was for memorial gifts to be directed to the Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation, located at 8445 Executive Woods Drive, Lincoln, Nebraska, 68512, www.joshtheotter.org a cause close to his heart.
Wallace will be remembered as a loving father, a pioneering professional, and a man who lived his life with passion and purpose. His contributions to his community, his industry, and most importantly, his family, will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
